Dannie Susie King Cox, 74, of Olive Hill passed away Monday, February 25, 2019 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Ashland, KY. She was born May 13, 1944 in Ashland, KY a daughter of Ferroll Louise Phillips Walker of Olive Hill and the late Edward Earsel King.
In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Vencil Cox; a step-father, Clatis Walker; a step-mother, Ola Mae Jessie King; a sister, Francis Johnson; a brother, Neiley Edward King.
Susie was a member of the Happy Hollow Community Church of Grahn; a fifty year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Olive Hill Chapter # 290, and a member of the DAV Grayson Chapter #127. Susie had worked as a government inspector in the garment industry, with Carter Industries in Olive Hill, KY.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a son, Robert ( Heidi ) V. Cox Jr. of Ashland; two daughters, Doris (Ronnie) Jeanie Wallace of Grayson; Dolores (Lon) Anne Patton of Ashland; three brothers, Clatis (Shelia) Walker Jr. of Murray, KY ; Keith (Debbie) Walker of Olive Hill; Earsel (Debbie) Lee King of Grahn; eight sisters, Maxine (Joey) Lawson of Olive Hill, Stella (Dallas Ray) Nolen of Grahn, Faye Barber of Lexington, KY, Helen (Gary) Stevens of Olive Hill, Glenna (Jack) Ison of Mount Sterling, KY, Betty Jean Tackett of Lucasville, OH, Noreen (Mike) Flannery of Olive Hill, and Dorothy (Charlie) Callihan of Lexington, KY; three grandchildren, Brandon (Keonee) Kyle Wallace of Lexington, Lance Erik Patton and Jordan Michael Sheridan both of Ashland; a great-granddaughter, Nora Evan, and looking forward to the birth of a great-grandson, Braxton Kyle Wallace, and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank special caregivers, Kerry Dale and Hurline Jarvis.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, Gary Sparks, minister. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, March 1, 2019 from 6:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Eastern Star service by the Olive Hill Chapter #290 at 7:00 p.m.
