Phillip Bush, 85, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson.
He was born January 29, 1933 in Greenup County, KY, a son of the late James Everett and Mary Myrtle (Campbell) Bush.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Hicks Bush; a son, Phillip Lee Bush; brothers, Herbert, Arnold, Leroy, Norman, and James Edward Bush; sisters, Mary Lucille Stephens and Nancy Irene Settles.
Mr. Bush was a United States Marine, proudly serving his county during the Korean conflict. After a period of time working in Dayton, OH, he returned to Grayson and attended Barber College and then opened Bush’s Barber Shop where he was self-employed for many years. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, Grayson Jaycees, Carter County Coons Hunters Association, and of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Bush of Grayson; a sister, Anna Ruth (Bush) Felty of Grayson; a very special sister-in-law, Jean Bush of Grayson and sister-in-law, Marguerite Sanders of Oldtown; several nieces and nephews will mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, Glen Stephenson, minister. Burial will follow in the Norris Cemetery, Crane Creek. Military honors will be provided by the Kenova American Legion Post #93. As the funeral escort will be provided by the Patriot Riders.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
