Obituary for E. Newsome

E. Newsome
E. Douglas Newsome, 62, of Olive Hill passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland. He was born August 11, 1954 in Grayson, KY a son of the late Theodore and Sally Hicks Newsome.

Doug proudly served his Country in both the United States Army and the Air Force. He had been employed by Quest in Columbus, Ohio as a computer engineer. During the 911 disaster he was instrumental in the process of getting New York City back online. He was of the protestant faith and a member of the Perry’s Branch Holiness Tabernacle Church.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister, Teddy Elaine Newsome.

He is survived by two sons, Douglas Allen Newsome and David Brian Newsome both of Mansfield, Ohio; three daughters, Leesha Ann Newsome, Teddy Elaine Newsome, and Amanda Marie Newsome all of Mansfield, Ohio; two brothers, Howard Michael Newsome of Olive Hill, Kentucky and Phillip Dwane Newsome of Springfield, Missouri; a sister, Linda Sue Hodge of Sevierville, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Kayla, Reghan, Ava, Natalie, Owen, and Addison.

Funeral services will be Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sparks Funeral Home in Grayson, John Hague, minister. Burial will follow in the Newsome Cemetery.

Visitation will be Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
